‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ host dies after stabbing incident—here’s what we know

TV personality Eduardo Xol, age 58, has been stabbed to death by a man in Palm Springs, California, as reported by People.

Xol was best known as a cohost of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on ABC, as well as being an actor and singer. Between seasons 2 and 8, Xol was the landscaping expert of the show, and also made waves for his very good looks.

Reports indicate that Xol was found by the Palm Springs Police Department on September 20 after suffering from “multiple stab wounds” and was promptly taken to the hospital. People reference a man called Richard Joseph Gonzales as being associated with the incident, writing:

“Xol and Gonzales were ‘associates,’ police claim, though it is not immediately clear what the nature of their relationship was.”

Deadline published a statement issued by Xol’s family following his passing. That statement reads:

“We are heartbroken at the tragic loss of our beloved Eduardo Xol. As his family, we know that his kindness has touched the lives of so many. We ask for that kindness returned now allowing our privacy to be respected as we process our grief. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Eduardo’s name to the Lupus Foundation of America as he spent so much of his life in the service of others.”

We’re sending our condolences to Eduardo Xol’s loved ones at this time.
