Surprise! Lady Gaga is releasing a new album this week & we’re freaking out

A new Lady Gaga album is nigh!

On Tuesday, September 24, the pop superstar announced the news on social media alongside the album cover’s official artwork.

“Harlequin,” the caption reads. “September 27. A companion album to Joker: Folie à Deux.”

The second slide includes an image of a carton Gayle Valley Farms’ homogenized milk. “All the cream left in,” the carton reads. It’s unclear how the image connects to the project.

Gaga is set to play Harley Quinn in the upcoming jukebox musical. Harlequin will reportedly include 13 songs and is set to be released this Friday, September 27. The tracklist includes covers of classic songs like “Oh, When the Saints,” “That’s Life,” and “Get Happy (2024).” It’s unclear if one or all of these songs will appear in the new Joker film.

Mother Monster has been teasing the album with cryptic billboards and social media posts, one of which include the number 6.5. Fans believe that signifies that she doesn’t include the record a full studio album, especially considering the next era has already been deemed LG7. Earlier this month, she said her seventh studio album was coming in October. Her recent collaboration with Bruno Mars “Die With A Smile” is still rising in the charts, but will not be featured on LG7.

The film Joker: Folie à Deux comes out October 4, but you have new music to look forward to this weekend!
