This week’s episode of Drag Race Global All Stars featured a shocking elimination, and viewers are not happy.
Spoilers ahead
Following the departure of Gala Varo, the seven remaining queens – Alyssa Edwards, Kitty Scott-Claus, Kween Kong, Nehellenia, Pythia, Tessa Testicle and Vanity Vain – returned to the werkroom.
Kitty, who won last week’s challenge, received praise for her Snatch Game of Love performance.
“I don’t understand how your mind works so quickly. I don’t understand. It’s a gift,” Pythia praised.
The conversation then shifted to Tessa, who landed in the bottom two for her work Snatch Game performance as Susanne Bartsch.
When Vanity asked how Tessa felt about her placement, the Drag Race Germany star delivered a hilarious answer related to her cow runway outfit.
“I mean, I’m not going to lie, it did feel like a loss of moo-mentum. I want to say I felt seen but not heard,” she teased.
However, in a confessional, Tessa revealed that she felt “rattled” after last week’s events.
“But I’m absolutely stepping up this week because the week before the Snatch Game, I had won, and I want to go back to that happy place,” she explained.
The next day, the queens returned to the workroom refreshed and ready to tackle their next maxi-challenge of the week.
“At this point of the competition, you could probably all use a little pick-me-up. For this week’s maxi-challenge, it’s nation versus nation as you star in a rich international roast,” Ru revealed.
“Now, later today, you’ll be treated to a master class in roasting by a surprise guest.
Since Kitty won last week’s challenge, Ru granted her the privilege of deciding the roast performance order.
The lineup was as follows: Kitty, Vanity, Pythia, Alyssa, Nehellenia, Tessa, and Kween.
After RuPaul left the workroom, the ladies got down to work on their comedy acts.
In one corner of the room, Alyssa opened up to Tessa about getting a second chance at doing a roast following her chaotic experience during Drag Race season five.
“But I got a different plan this time around. I’m going to write my material and I’m actually going to read the material,” she joked.
On the other side of the workroom, Pythia expressed her dismay over the comedy challenge.
“Stand-up comedy and roasts kind of don’t make sense in my head. I’m a little nervous,” she revealed to Kitty.
Halfway through the queen’s creative process, Drag Race UK judge Graham Norton strutted into the workroom to share some helpful tips and wisdom ahead of the roast.
“Funny is key. So, worry about the funny more than anything else. Some of you might feel going into this, Oh, you know, ‘my English isn’t as good, or I don’t write jokes,’ make those weaknesses strengths, I would say,” the beloved late-night talk show host explained.
“And then the classic thing is, try to make us believe you’re having fun. But you should be enjoying it because you wanted to be here. No one forced you here. No one got a pig prod out and go, no, you get in there. You wanted to be here. You wanted to do this.”
On elimination day, the queens returned refreshed and confident for their respective roasts. During their makeup process, the ladies opened up about the difficulties of navigating the public eye without getting cancelled.
“Being in the public eye, we do have more of a responsibility. But we are human, and I think that we live in a world of social media. The judges aren’t really the judges sitting up there on the stage. It’s the keyboard warriors at home,” Alyssa said.
Vanity echoed similar sentiments, revealing she got “so much hate” after her time on Drag Race Sverige.
“They really didn’t get me in Sweden. They just thought that I was so, like, really sour as a person,” she added.
Toward the end of their discussion, Alyssa went on to reiterate RuPaul’s quote – “What other people say about me is none of my business” – which the other queens embraced.
After their heartwarming conversation, the queens headed to the main stage for the Rich International Roast.
Throughout the shadefest, most of the queens delivered an array of hilarious and cheeky reads, which left the judges’ panel in stitches.
The queens then sashayed down the runway in their best ‘Blow Me Away’ ensembles before receiving critiques.
While Kitty, Alyssa, Nehellenia and Kween were praised for their performance and runway looks, Pythia, Tessa, and Vanity received less-than-stellar reviews.
In the end, Kitty and Kween were named the winners of the maxi-challenge and recipients of $5,000 (splitting a $10,000 cash tip).
Unfortunately, Vanity and Pythia landed in the bottom two, resulting in the duo lip syncing for their life to Celine Dion’s ‘I Drove All Night.’
Throughout their dazzling performance, the two talented queens delivered drama, body, and magical hairography.
While Pythia and Vanity both laid it out on the stage, Ru asked the latter to stay and the former to sashay away.
Shortly after the episode aired, fans took to social media to express their shock over the Canada’s Drag Race star’s departure.
One fan wrote: “Justice for Pythia, I’m so serious, she shouldn’t have been in the bottom in the first place.”
Another viewer tweeted: “RUPAUL… WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING WITH THIS SEASON???”
A third fan added: “This was so sick & twisted like.”
On next week’s episode of Drag Race Global All Stars, the remaining contestants will transform the eliminated queens into members of their Drag Race family.
